The .top domain registry has finally addressed its contractual breaches with ICANN, nearly a year after being issued a breach notice in July 2024.

ICANN cited failures including:

  • Ignoring URS (Uniform Rapid Suspension) requests

  • Lacking a DNS abuse complaint process

  • Missing abuse contact details on its site

  • Falling behind on ICANN payments

To resolve the issues, .top clarified its URS handling process, added abuse contact info, and paid outstanding fees.

With nearly 5 million registrations, .top remains the second-largest new TLD, driven largely by low-cost domain sales.
